The Truth Behind These Eyes

My name is Amber and I reside in Las Vegas, NV. I was born December
14th in a little suburb of Salt Lake City called Granger, UT. I was born a month
early with a lot of complications. My name was given to me because my mother said
that when the nurses brought me to her, I looked like a piece of amber glass. I was
brought home from the hospital, in a Christmas stocking to an older sister that did
not embrace the fact that she was no longer going to be the only child and would
now have to share her parents with someone else. Our family moved to Las Vegas, following
my father's job, when I was one year old. I was raised in a religious family, with very high morals and values that were set upon each of us 6 children. I am the 2nd oldest having an older sister, 3 younger brothers and a younger sister. My family is one of the most important things in my life and I cherish the tradition that was made years ago of meeting for family dinners for birthdays and big holidays. We have so many fun family memories! My views of a perfect relationship and family were altered when I was 15 years old and my parents decided to get divorced. It was at this time that my mother packed all of us kids in the car and moved us to Utah to live with my grandparents. My father would travel to Utah every other weekend for visits while my mother worked diligently, being a single mother and supporting, at the time, 5 children. During my time in Utah, My mother took me to a couple of model casting calls around the state and I was approached by different agencies to begin modeling but my family just didn't have the money to have me start a portfolio. As much as I begged and pleaded, I knew that our finances just weren't there so we pushed the modeling world to the side. After 2 years in Utah, my mother got remarried and relocated the family back to Las Vegas, NV. While in Vegas, my older sister began placing me in beauty pageants and modeling schools to build my self-confidence and to teach me how to take care of myself. I graduated with honors from a local High School and still continued with pageants for the next year. After High School, I attended some College and then decided to begin looking at the option of modeling, again. I saved some money and paid for pictures to be taken but just didn't have the funds to continue on and put those pictures in a card or book. So again, I put modeling to the side and began my professional career by focusing on something that I loved, which are children. I was the Director for a local dance program for 5 years and loved teaching children the art of music by voice and dance instruction. They captured my heart and taught me so much about life. After 5 years, my life took a turn on me and forced me to sell my program and to take another road in my career by working in the corporate world. After 5 years in the corporate world, my itch for modeling surfaced again. I had been through many of life's lessons and decided that I was now making good enough money to be able to take the modeling world all the way. I had my pictures taken, my composite cards finished and began meeting with all of the local agencies for representation. A week after my composite cards were out, I began getting phone calls and the work started coming in. I feel in love with the camera, and it took me some time to realize, that the camera has fallen back in love with me. I have been blessed with a unique opportunity to finally complete my dream of modeling by pursuing my modeling career full time and have had the exciting opportunity to start traveling with my career. I have done numerous events including tradeshows, conventions, print, commercial, theatre, film, radio, TV, special events and promotions. In my spare time I enjoy cuddling up to a good book, spending time with my family and friends, workingout in the gym, outdoor water sports, camping and keeping my mind active by attending college classes. |
